State Library of Ohio

The SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Service Center, located in Caldwell, is a division of the State Library of Ohio.  The State Library of Ohio is a state agency, located in Columbus, OH that serves all types of libraries and their vision is being a Smarter Ohio where every Ohioan can access the necessary resources to be engaged citizens.  The Statewide Delivery System (Priority Dispatch) is managed and coordinated by the State Library of Ohio. 

OPLIN

The Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) provides broadband internet connections and related information services to Ohio public libraries. Our primary mission is to ensure that all Ohio residents have fast, free public internet access through the 251 independent local public library systems in Ohio, as well as the use of high-quality research databases not freely available online. Though the eventual consumers of our services are often members of the general public, our actual customers are in fact limited to the public library systems of Ohio. OPLIN provides SMS text messaging services to public libraries including the SEO Service Center for notification. OPLIN also hosts the GNU Mailing List Manager (Mailman) that the SEO Service Center uses to communicate to its membership libraries.

EBSCO

EBSCO is the leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazines, eBooks and discovery service to public libraries. SEO integrates EBSCO’s technology into the Enterprise online catalog with the “articles and journals” tabbed results

GoToMeeting

GoToMeeting offers easy and secure online meetings with HD video conferencing capabilities.  SEO uses GoToMeeting to provide virtual training, webinars, and to also host virtual board meetings for member libraries.

FreshDesk

SEO uses FreshDesk by FreshWorks as their help desk ticketing software solution.  The FreshDesk support portal provides 24/7 support to our member libraries for fast, efficient, and reliable ticket management.

IONOS by 1&1

SEO utilizes IONOS by 1&1 to host over 800 @seolibraries.org email accounts for member library staff.

Niche Academy

Niche Academy is an online learning platform made for libraries. The platform gives individual libraries their own online academy that can be used as a teaching tool for both patrons and staff.

OverDrive

Digital content provider/platform that serves the Ohio Digital Library consortium. This platform allows member library patrons to borrow eBooks, audiobooks and stream videos to their compatible device.

Splashtop

SEO utilizes Splashtop to remotely access member libraries workstations and devices (Android or iOS) in order to provide the best possible support.

State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC)

SEO hosts the Firewall/VPN alliance at the SOCC which providese a secure and reliable path between the ILS client and server.  The DAS/OIT mainframe environment is located at the SOCC in Columbus, Ohio on the OSU campus. It is a secure and reliable facility with state of the art infrastructure providing full uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for computer systems.

Syndetics

SEO integrates Syndetics to enrich the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) with full color jacket images.  SEO also uses Syndetics Unbound to enrich the catalog by providing reading recommendations, “why this match“, series information and much more.  Syndetics and Syndetics Unbound is enabled on all Enterprise member library profiles.

Uptime Robot

Uptime Robot monitors all of the ILS services and notifies staff of any unscheduled downtime. This allows staff to quickly alert members and get to work on remedying the problem.

WhoFi

The WhoFi (formerly Who’s On My WiFi) project allows libraries to monitor and count the number of devices on their wireless network including new and repeat patrons/devices.  This tool enables libraries to complete the State Annual Report.  

WordPress

The SEO Service Center websites are powered using WordPress.  WordPress is a secure content management system (CMS) platform that allows staff to easily create, import, and manage content from anywhere.  WordPress is written in PHP and utilizes a MySQL database.
